Hur väljer man vilken man testar först? Ska jag dra lott?

Skön söndag på er! /K

2020 Quinta do Saes, Dão Reserva
Portugal is the source of some of the greatest values in the world. The range, diversity and quality of wines is extraordinary and truly deserve to be better known. A good place to start is the region of Dão, home of refined wines in both colors. Let us suggest a fabulous white made with the local grape, Encruzado, done by one of the most respected Portuguese producers, Alvaro Castro. This is a superb introduction to one of Portuguese finest varieties, driven by fresh aromatics, suggesting citrus fruits, herbal notes and white flowers. Medium in body with just enough weight of fruit to coop with some buttery sauces. This is a dry wine driven by fabulous freshness, citrus flavors, delicate herbal notes and white fruits. If you enjoy your light and mineral stylish Chardonnays, this will be up on your alley.
2019 Jutta Ambrositsch, Wien ‘Kosmopolit’
Do you know that Vienna has the most vineyard planted of any city in the world and that there is a well rooted tradition of making delightful wines? Jutta Ambrositsch embodies the new generation keeping with the old tradition of making Gemischter Satz from her organic tended vineyards. This is a blend coming from five different sites on both side of the Danube and consist of many varieties including: Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay or Welschriesling. Thinking of refreshing white to dissipate the summer thirst, this is your wine. Wonderfully dry, crisp, and refreshing; offering a myriad of stone fruits and delicate spice. A light wine to spice many of your starters, veggies, and lighter fishes (or dishes).
2019 Isaac Cantalapiedra, Cantayano
This is a 100% Verdejo from the hearth of the Rueda region in Northern Spain, although the tenacious rising star, Cantalapiedra, bottle his wines under the umbrella of the generic appellation of ‘Vino de la Tierra’. This is Verdejo at best: a short of Spanish answer to Sauvignon Blanc in the form of this native grape variety. Aromatic (mandarin, pear, grass..) medium in body with lovely gentle texture and balanced by vibrant acidity. Would you like to move away from your comfort zone, put aside your Sancerre for just a second, and try something from farther South, you may be well pleased. If you need a wine to pair your gravlax or smoke salmon, you have one.
2018 Celler del Roure, Valencia Safrà
Valencia may not yet be on your wine map of Spain although it may be a good time to add it. Thanks to the work of Celler del Roure, this historical region is reviving its rich viticultural history and we start to see superb characterful wines rooted to these lands. This is a blend of local Variety Mandó and Arcos. At Celler del Roure like to say that this is a red wine with the soul of a white. Unique red, aged at their impressive 17th century cellar on 2.600 liter clay tinajas (or amphoras). This is a gentle light red with floral aromas very gentle soft tannins and delicate structure. Aromas and flavors of red berry fruits, cherries, overall, very gentle and delicate. If you feel for a delicate Pinot Noir, this is a good alternative. To have on its own (slightly chilled outdoors!), if you feel for a red and you are having fish this will do it as also with any kind of light dishes. FYI, the local dish in Valencia is Paella and this most typical Spanish dish is superbly enjoyed with Celler del Roure wines.
2019 Castello di Verduno, Pelaverga ‘Basadone’
Piemonte, as any region in Italy, offers an endless range of indigenous varieties with unique personality and worth to be discovered aS enjoyed. Pelaverga is the indigenous grape of the historic Barolo village of Verduno. There is no much of Pelaverga planted yet the few examples of it are sincerely delicious. One of the best examples of Pelaverga comes from one of the top producers in Barolo, Castello di Verduno. This is a refreshing, vibrant red wine, with vital aromas of crunchy raspberry, rosehip and pepper. Light in colour, vital in its acidity and gentle on its tannins, this is a layered and complex red wine that could be the star at any table where carne cruda, red pastas or pizza is served. It is also dangerously easy to drink on its own.
2018 Terre des Chardons, Costières de Nîmes ‘Bien Luné’
Biodynamically farmed, Terres de Chardons produce wines that are lifted and full of energy. This is a classic Grenache & Syrah blend from South of France yet with such a vibrant and fresh expression that makes of this wine not only an excellent Grenache blend yet a fresh and welcoming wine. Perfumed red berry fruit, floral notes and supple tannins, this is a very charming wine. Sure, we will be grilling or barbecuing at some point this summer, do we need a red to pair that meat or that delicious piece of lamb that we may reserve to roast in the oven? This wine will add all the French Mediterranean charm.”
